A Call to Return to God

A Call to Return to God Daily Devotional, A Call to Return to God Scripture: 2 Chronicles 7:14 (NIV)

“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

    Devotional:

Have you ever felt distant from God? Maybe you’ve been going through the motions of your daily routine, but you haven’t felt that spark of connection with Him. Or perhaps you’ve been struggling with sin or doubt, and you feel like you’re drifting further and further away from God’s presence.

Today’s scripture is a call to return to God. It’s a reminder that no matter how far we may have strayed, God is always waiting for us to come back to Him. But it requires effort on our part. We must humble ourselves, pray, seek God’s face, and turn from our wicked ways.

This isn’t just a one-time action, but a continuous process. It’s a daily decision to surrender our lives to God, to seek His will, and to obey His commands.

As we return to God, we can expect Him to hear our prayers, forgive our sins, and heal our land. But more than that, we can expect to experience a deeper sense of connection with Him, a sense of purpose and direction, and a joy that comes from knowing we’re living in accordance with His will.

    Reflection Questions:

    1. What are some ways you’ve been feeling distant from God lately?
    2. What are some sins or habits that you need to turn away from?
    3. What steps can you take today to humble yourself, pray, and seek God’s face?

    Prayer:

    Dear Heavenly Father,

I come to You today, acknowledging that I’ve been feeling distant from You. I confess my sins and my weaknesses, and I ask for Your forgiveness. Help me to humble myself, to pray, and to seek Your face. Give me the strength to turn away from my wicked ways and to follow Your will. I want to experience a deeper sense of connection with You, and I want to live a life that honors You.

    In Jesus’ name, Amen.

    Action Step:

Take a few minutes today to reflect on your relationship with God. Ask yourself if there are any areas where you need to return to Him. Write down your thoughts and prayers, and then take action to make things right with God.
